Children’s portable seat for dynamic learning

Sophomore project from Industrial Design Lab II at Virginia Tech. This was the students’ first experience with a buildup project.

Student’s statement:

A mobile seat for children that promotes dynamic learning inside and outside the classroom.

As young children, we’re taught to learn and grow through exploring our environments and interacting with others.

Unfortunately, a model American classroom limits the amount of opportunities our children have to participate in different activities and introducing a dynamic class structure centered around movement and small group learning can provide our youth with a more wholesome foundation for their education.
